Thumbelina

Here's my fairytale Month of Softies contribution for January!  Zoë is very into fairies these days so she is quite fond of Thumbelina.  Thumbelina isn't pink & sparkly like Zoë would prefer but the fuzzy fairy wings with just a hint of gold thread make up for it.  Plus, Thumbelina is much better than my last Month of Softies (Lost Lucy) contribution in that she isn't so scary.

Lost Girl Lucy

Ta Da!  My second entry to Month of Softies!  'Lost Girl Lucy'.  When I was drawing out some ideas my son asked me why I was drawing such scary girls so I thought I better tone her down a bit.  A sweet smile and colourful dress...you can take the ghoul out of the gal but you can't take the gal out of the ghoul????  I don't know, just like the way it sounds.

I did it!  I finally made something for Month of Softies and got it in just under the wire.  This month was perfect because like most people I have a box of single socks.  Their partners have either been eaten by the sock goblin who lives in the dryer or inhaled by my sock loving dog.  Yes folks, you read it right, my dog eats socks.  I can't imagine them being particulary good for her digestion.  She does throw them up several days after consumption usually at 4 in the morning.  My kids like to play in their barefeet so they leave their socks lying about.  They are quickly learning to place socks high up or directly into laundry hamper.  Being  summer here in Vancouver, Canada, the kids rarely wear socks so Una the sock eating wonderdog is out of luck until Autumn arrives.
