Rain, rain go away!

I am sooooo tired of the rain!  Here in North Vancouver we've been getting little moments of sunshine and then RAIN and more RAIN.  Here's looking on the bright side:

  • mucho inspiration for April's Month of Softies theme.
  • my garden is very happy
  • good weather for surfing the net
  • good weather for Spring cleaning
(I've got two boxes of kid's clothes ready for the Sally-Ann and a whole stack of magazines which I'll bring to the next Knaughty Knitters meeting...they're only slightly cut up...)

and that brings me to today's rainy day activity:  decoupage

Gluing

A friend was getting rid of some wooden Ikea boxes which I thought would be great in Zoë's room to store all her little trinkets.  Zoë helped choose and cut out the pictures and she took care of all the gluing.

I did the placing - can you tell? - I'm trying not to be such a perfectionist, especially when it comes to kids crafts!  The proverb on my Good Earth tea today was 'Artists who seek perfection in everything are those who cannot attain it in anything. Eugene Delacroix (1798 - 1863)')  a sign perhaps?

Have a super weekend!

oh and one last thing...the chick & rooster pictures just reminded me of a book the kids & I recently took out from the library, Henny Penny, written by Jane Wattenberg - a fun new take on "Chicken Little".
